| True, Mark said the delay was due to a back up at the exhaust shop since OEM doesn't make the exhausts in house. | |

| look wut I has. I left one black for the pic just for comparison. There was something on a couple of these that just wouldn't budge, like an adhesive or something?? A little wire brush action with a drill and you should be good. I did blast the plastic hub covers as well, they came out alright. Looks as tho whoever painted them scratched the shit out of 'em before hand a coat or two of prime should suit them well. Personally, I think these would look baller polished. Good thing I don't have a set or I probly would do it! | |

| Ouch.... Great QC they have. I am not sure if i trust them yet, if you read through the lower control arm brace thread they are messing up all over with which ends are on them. I would make a call and let them know so they can get another one out ASAP. | |

| Exhaust is ON, fitment is excellent, no banging around, everything lined up perfect. Although, it now sounds like doo-doo since its N/A 2.5" header back, no cat, no resonator. I'll live with it for now, and possibly add a cat and resonator once I get a turbo in there. | |

| Yeah, apparently Mark (the owner of OEM) sent the wrong order to the exhaust shop that makes them (OEM only helped design the kit). I got my money back for the resonator, although he did offer to exchange the mid pipes for the one I ordered, but I didn't want to wait another two weeks for that to get done. | |

| It does look good. The slip fit is nice, how far does the pipe protrude in to the back half of the exhaust? Hopefully a good 2-3". I had done this with my setup and only got about an inch or so and with that same style clamp it would fall out. | |

| You can kind of see how much is flared and it looks to be 4-5". But that does not say how much is inserted. | |

| Yeah I noticed the flare and thought it had to be in there a ways. That is a really good way to do things for sure. It solves any flange orientation issues and allows tweaking for fitment. Not a big fan of those clamps and would like to see a t bolt used but in all a great exhaust for the money. They sell a 3" mild steel mandrel bent with no resonator or muffler for like $170 or something. I was thinking about getting one once I sold my exhaust.... | |

| yeah, I bet that's a little loud. Looks awesome!
for what it's worth, I've heard depending on the trim of the turbo, the turbo itself will act like a muffler. You may not want to plan on choking the exhaust down too much with resonators and stuffs. I've also heard 'the less exhaust restriction, the better' from hot rod turbo guys for years. Obviously, we're not talking about just a down pipe being used for an exhaust, you'd still need a full length exhaust, but, it was stressed that turbulence can cause many issues as well.
I mean, a test pipe is just a tube to replace your cat, right? It (the test pipe) would create less turbulence and restriction than the cat.. I dunno, just my $.02 | |

| Resonator's and muffler's do not reduce ultimate power output as long as you are using the right ones. You ONLY want to use perforated core straight through designs. In which case the tiny holes and the damping material are what reduces sound output without interfering with flow. The Magnaflow stuff is great! "traditional" hot rod guys preach the benefits of brackpressure too, which is also completely wrong. You do not need ANY back pressure! What you need to do is optimize piping diameter so as to preserve exhaust velocity. On a turbo system the turbo itself creates velocity which is why the larger exhaust the better... NA cars it is critical to use the right setup to produce maximum power... | |

| Also, I ordered an eBay B&M short shifter knock-off, a Z32 shift knob, a B15 clutch disc, JWT pressure plate, and a few other odds and ends recently. Once I get the B13 on the road the B14 is getting torn down! | |

| This update is primarily a picture dump of what I've been doing lately, not a whole lot, but little things here and there.. Here are the B14 wheels that slacker sand blasted for me, I still need to do a bit of hand sanding before I paint them, which will probably be a dark metallic silver. Got my GSpec Stage 3 clutch kit (B15 disc and JWT pressure plate) today and torqued that onto the motor. Here is my fuel system parts, 370cc Q45 injectors (I confirmed this with my last trip to the junkyard), Nismo universal FPR with SR rail adapter. A close-up of the injector caps, wrinkle black with a splattered silver on it. A close-up of the Q45 injectors, a bit haggard but not too bad overall. Here is my shifter set-up, an eBay B&M knock-off short shifter, brand new OEM Z32 shift knob, and a fake suede boot my mommy made me! More parts, new SR20 clutch cable, axle seals, rear main seal, and throw out bearing. Some silicone rear coolant hoses. My transmission, I still need to seal and torque it back together. | |
