| Engine bay will be painted. Undecided on the color but i am thinking a bright blue. The valve cover will most likely be copper color so i think blue would look good. I kind of want the bay to be a different color than the exterior. Exterior will not be staying gold, also undecided on what it will be. I want to do something totally different and i think that a lot of people will not like it. | |

| More parts arrive over last week and this week. Technafit Brake lines, Gspec Crank and WP pulleys, front and rear motor mounts, rack and pinion boots, front & rear stabilizer bar links, front rotors, rear pads, brake bleeders, exhaust hanger, front caliper bolts & sliders & boots, and drivers side radiator hose. A few more things on the way, i would like to start painting and undercoating soon, but the weather has not been the best. My wife and I are also expecting our second daughter to show up any time, she is due tomorrow so that will put things on a hold for a little while. I would like to get some progress done while i am off work but who knows. I do need suggestions for the engine bay color. I want to do the valve cover and some other small pieces in a copper color so i thought blue would set that off nice. I could always do black or white too. Ideas? | |

| black engine bay hides the dirt/muck more while white won't hide a thing (so it depends on what you want in that respect)
Personally I'd rather go with black for an engine bay but other argue it is easier to spot problems early with a white engine bay (but if you want to 'show' it, it will be a lot more work to keep clean is all)

| I think blue with copper would look good, but its hard to give advice without knowing what the exterior is gonna be | |

| I received the rest of my parts including what is needed to get the motor back together. I have been a little busy with our new baby girl that we had on last Thursday. But i have been doing things here and there as i get time. I cleaned the bay and wheel wells to get most of the dirt and grease off, about a can of foamy engine bright did the trick. Next was to scuff it up with a red scotch pad. There was really only one area that had rust, that was by the battery. I used a wire wheel on the angle grinder the do most of the work then a combination of wire brush and scotch pad to clean the rest up. I used some rust converter stuff that deactivates the rust and prevents it from spreading. It turns the rust into a paint able surface. It seemed to work pretty good, i did two coats just to be sure. I also undercoated one wheel well and i have to wait for the other one to dry. I hope to get the bay painted by the end of the weekend and possibly get the motor assembled. If not assemble the motor throughout next week. | |

| Got a few more things done today. Bay final sanded, taped, and ready to go. Close up of the rust repair. This stuff worked great. After sanding after some of it i actually sanded through it to metal. No rust underneath, the stuff works great. Bay primed. Color and clear going on tomorrow. | |

| Got the color and clear on today. Nothing too exciting with the color, i chickened out. I am always changing my mind so i thought a more neutral color would be best. Black no clear. Clear on. Over all i think it didnt turn out so well. Not sure what went wrong but i could not get the gun to shoot the primer so well. Sprayed really spotty and my other gun isnt working. I think the nozzle was too small. The paint and clean shot pretty good but if i want it to look great i will have to wet sand and buff, not going to happen. Too many curves and uneven spots to do that. I might do a little hand buffing to see how that works. Its one color and looks decent so its better than it was. | |

| Nope, not really. I'll be enjoying the 200 soon.
I'll get another another P10 down the road. I'd really like it to be the pearl white color.

| Ran in to a little issue today. I started to put the motor back together and found out they only gave me one half to one of my main bearings. So i will have to go back and find out what happened. The box was tapped up with different nissan tape and the bearing was not wrapped in plastic. So i decided to start getting the interior ready. I pulled out the sound deadening from the floor. Before After I also took all of the tape off and pulled down the plastic from the engine bay. Now to let it harden for a couple days before i mess with it. So depending on when that bearing comes in i would like to get the motor together pretty quick here but i have lots of other things i can do in the mean time. | |

| Got the bearings in, crank in, and rods/pistons in. Need to finish cleaning a few of the mating surfaces and the rest should go together pretty quick. Im hoping by the end of the week the motor will be complete again. Rods/Pistons in, and bearings in and lubed. Everything torqued down. Re-oiled the walls and gave her a few turns. | |

| Did you have a project completion date in mind at this point or just taking your time and it will get done when it gets done? | |

| I have come to the conclusion that this will get done when it gets done. With 2 kids in the house now its a whole new world. I have less time for me things and after the kids go to bed i am ready too.
Ill put my birthday down as my completion date, 7/11
