I present to you, the Datsun Roadster project.i am on the prowl for 240sx front hubs, a new rear set up, and will have some Ka24de action to swap into it... but this is what it will all be going into. basically, i wanted to build a dailable street monster, weekend track slut, and drift bomber all in one. so this could end up rather fun and fairly interesting.
i had a budget build in mind, this keeps me on my feet for deals, excersizing my good friendships, and ability to make due with what i have or what i will build... but not sacrificing anything that i want the car to be.
i recieved the car cut in half, yes, in half... ie two pieces. but after a solid day of work, the car is one complete beauty again and the gaps are better than they were when they left Japan some 40 years ago.
how i got the car:
as it sits now:
mmmm, perfect gaps all around ftw:
just a mock up to see what it will basically look like
never really been a fan of the solid rear axel so i hope to swap it out for a Jag or 240sx rear sub frame basically, its a personal thing, and the car has one now... i just like to be the odd duck that has to swim up stream to the beat of his own drum.
the plans:
1969 Datsun 1600 Roadster -got
get gaps perfect- done
finish minor rust repair
sand, bondo skin and prep for paint
paint the car
POR15 the bottom/wheel wells
go fast goodies:

gt35r twin scroll-got
tial 50mm bov-got

so yeah, basically i plan to build a drivers car from my old japanese little godzilla in sheep's clothing.
if you have any cheap parts that would help out, let me know
that basically sums up the new build, i will keep this up to date... hopefully.
feel free to comment, ask questions, give imput, ect...
Then this happened.oh cool, did the saab get some crazy euro drop?
nope, just doing the wagon thing and hauling goodies for the roadster
oh cute, another transmission... with longer legs, why would we need that tho?
meh, whatever... this looks pretty bad ass tho
mmmm, looks bad ass.
holy shit monkey balls. I guess Grover's 2876 aint got shit on the rice burner now
isn't it a cute little guy, room to spare on both sides of the bottle even
can has twin scrollz?
oh, how appropriate, some random equal length stainless mani that it fits on!
oh, how nice that it happens to fit on the new block
thats a cute little set up
so yeah, there ya go. did some more welding on the body as well, have two more areas of rust repair and I should finish up most of my pinch and seem welding here in the semi-near future. still on the hunt for front and rear set ups
