| So in the hopes of getting my car to the convention under boost, I have the issue of what ECU to use. Regarding that, I have a few questions...
Can I just get an Avenir or Bluebird ECU and run that on a B14 harness with a stock MAF, 370's, and stock wastegate actuator?
Is anybody local using a Nistune board? As I understand it, it only functions with Nistune software.
How many Calum users are there locally? I understand that this is a great product at a great price, but the wait time and lack of communication with customers makes me wary.
Does anybody have any experience with MegaSquirt setups?
I understand I would need, at the minimum, a wideband for the three previously mentioned options. Are there any other tuning tools that are necessary to get a car up and running?
Is there any other ECU options in the price range of $600-$700?

| You can get a Jim wolf ECU for around 400. Yes you could run an avenir ECU with an avenir MAF and injectors. It will work fine. You can also get a Calum basic with a stock program and be good to go. There are a few people local that run Calums | |

| The wait time on Calums is what worries me, but I guess I should talk to Calum before I discount what he has to offer.
Are Avenir MAFs the same as USDM B14 MAFs?

| That's what I figured. It's not hard to find the ECU, and I already have the injectors, but I don't think I've seen a DET MAF for sale thats NOT in a kit. | |

| The MAF's are out there. Emanage will be a good one for you as well. Thats what I will be using so I am sure if there are 2 of us down here using it, we will be able to figure it out. | |

| Thanks DJ, I'd forgotten eManage. That appears to be my best option for the buck.
Jon, you're familiar with eManage aren't you? What are all the extra harnesses and shit for?

| Can't use a DET ECU without a obd1 to obd2 harness adapter. Just go jwt or megasquirt. | |

| JWT doesn't seem worth the money to me, when I'm going to be using a relatively stock tune. I do believe I am going to look into eManage more, and most likely go with that. | |

Doug, you're familiar with eManage aren't you? What are all the extra harnesses and shit for? You don't need the extra harness, but it will let you tune better. You should get an injector harness and the boost sensor. The cool thing is that if you get the injector harness, the ignition one is tied into it as well. I also have the support tool and cable so you can borrow that and you can tune a hell of allot better with that. The only thing I would say to invest in would be a wideband it you are going that route.
